Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Yesterday’s #LoveFor28 post was about God lavishing his love on us as children of God. And today we focus on the extent to which he went to demonstrate just how much he loves us.
Truth be told, it was no Valentine Day kind of love. It was more. Much more.
It was the kind of love that sent his Son to us in human form. It was the kind of love that had his Son lay down his life for us.
And because of this great love, we are not only children of God but friends of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord.
This is amazing love – no greater love – no Valentine Day love.
Definition of valentine: “A token or gift sent by one person to another on Valentine Day, sometimes anonymously.”
There was nothing anonymous or small about what Jesus did for us – no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend.
