Love your neighbor as yourself…And who is my neighbor? Luke 10: 27,29 (selected)
I have found that it’s easy to say we love our neighbor, it’s harder to act like we actually do.
To the expert in the law who stood up to test Jesus and justify himself, Jesus told the parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). It’s worth a read when you have a moment.
This is what I have gleaned out of this story:
It’s impossible to claim we have love for our neighbor, yet ignore their need for mercy (help); especially when it’s in our power to provide it.
My co-worker is drowning in work. His boss and the expert who can help have passed him by. They have better things to do, more important things.I too have my work to do and if I were to offer help I too would be inconvenienced.
I too have my work to do and if I were to offer help I too would be inconvenienced. Who knows where it would lead?
A priest and a Levite passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan went to him, took pity on him.
What’s my, what’s your next love move?
