Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Song of Songs 8:7
Marital love, according to one commentary I read on this passage, is the fiercest, strongest, most unyielding and invincible force there is in the human experience.
This is love as God intended it to be.
This is, I believe, what he meant when he said the “two shall become one.” (Genesis 2:4; Mark 10:8).
Two hearts can form a formidable bond that can overcome any storm.
This is invincible love worth fighting for, worth working toward.
Invincible love – marital love – is love worth living for and worth working out any difference or difficulty to develop and nurture.
Today’s #LoveChallenge is to do something to fan the flames of love and commitment for your spouse. It’s to keep faithful to the invincibility of marital love. Talk about this with your spouse. Rekindle, if necessary, the invincible character of the love you once held for each other.
